PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy Policy
How juin.com handles your personal information.
1. Overview
juin.com (the “Service”) treats your personal information carefully and complies with applicable privacy laws. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we store, use, and delete it.
2. Personal information we collect
- Required — Social account identifiers used for sign-up (Google, Kakao, Naver), email address, username, phone number
- Optional — Nickname, profile image, language settings, marketing email consent, search terms, questions, chats, writing, memo photos, OCR results, reviews, comments, audio, video searches and saved sentences submitted or created while using features, content public/private settings, and payment/subscription records (we do not store full payment-card details)
- Collected automatically — IP address, browser and device information, sign-in session cookies, access, feature-usage and error logs
3. Purposes of collection and use
- Identifying members, sign-in, and preventing duplicate accounts (one account per phone number)
- Account security and important service notices
- Responding to 1:1 inquiries and improving the service from suggestions and deletion feedback
- (With consent) Marketing email about new features and learning tips
- Providing learning features, storing and displaying content, and operating AI-assisted search, translation, and feedback
- Showing content you set to public on community and public pages, and supporting link sharing to social networks you choose (KakaoTalk, X, Facebook, and similar)
4. Retention and use period
We delete personal information when the purpose of collection and use is achieved. When you delete your account, the account and profile data (username, email, phone number, profile image, language settings) are destroyed without delay and cannot be recovered. To prevent abusive re-signup, hashes of social identifiers and phone numbers are kept for 30 days in non-restorable form and then destroyed; during that period you cannot sign up again with the same social account or phone number. Information we must keep under law (e.g. service usage or access logs) is stored separately and securely for the period required, then destroyed. To prevent impersonation with a deleted username, the username string is kept for 30 days, during which the same username cannot be registered. Feedback you left on deletion is kept only in anonymous form, detached from account data.
5. Sharing with third parties
We generally do not disclose personal information to third parties without consent. If you choose Polar international payment, YouTube content, or KakaoTalk / X / Facebook share, those providers may process information under their own payment, tax, security, content, or sharing policies. We give notice and obtain consent before a disclosure where applicable law requires it. If you set learning content (reading memos, reviews, comments, posts, and similar) to public, or use a public link or social share, your username, nickname, profile image, and that content may be visible to anyone, including people who are not signed in. Content set to private is not shown in community feeds, public pages, or social-share targets. We may not be able to retrieve copies already saved or redistributed by third parties.
6. Service providers and international processing
Relevant features send data over encrypted connections. • Account and storage — Supabase Inc. provides database, authentication and file storage. Account, profile, session, learning content and uploads are stored primarily in Seoul, South Korea; limited overseas processing may occur for operations, security, support or subprocessors. • Operations and verification — Vercel Inc. (United States) processes IP, device/browser and session data, requests and logs for hosting and security, and may collect cookieless, anonymized visit and page-view metrics via Web Analytics. Twilio Inc. (United States, US1) processes phone numbers, verification codes and delivery status for phone verification. When a member requests a gift pass, the recipient's phone number is processed solely to deliver the notification SMS; the service stores it only in hashed/masked form and deletes it once the coupon is used or 7 days after sending. • Payments — Toss Payments Co., Ltd. (South Korea) processes user, email, order, subscription, billing-key and payment-status data for domestic recurring payments. Polar Software, Inc. (United States) processes user, email, plan, order, subscription, billing and tax data for international checkout. Payment details are collected by the payment provider; we do not store full card data. • AI provider pool — Depending on membership tier, feature and availability, an encrypted AI request may be routed to a contracted and enabled provider: Anthropic PBC (Claude), OpenAI OpCo, LLC (OpenAI), Google LLC (Gemini), or X.AI LLC (Grok), primarily in the United States and listed processing locations. Only the selected provider receives prompts, chats, writing, memo images/OCR or audio for search, translation, feedback and generation. Business API data is configured not to train models. Standard retention is up to 30 days for Anthropic, OpenAI and X.AI, and up to 55 days for Gemini safety monitoring, subject to Zero Data Retention, security and legal exceptions. Tier-to-model assignments may change within this pool; we will update this policy if the provider pool or material transfer facts change. • External content — Google LLC (YouTube; United States and Google processing locations) may process search terms, IP, device/browser data, cookies, referrer and playback activity when YouTube is used in Watch. • Social share — When you choose KakaoTalk, X, or Facebook share (for example from Reading), the share URL and public-page preview data (title, image, description via Open Graph) may be processed by Kakao (KakaoTalk share SDK and scrap), X Corp. (X), or Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook). We start this only when you press that network's control; recipient choice and further processing follow each platform's policies. Keeping content private or not using share avoids this processing. • Advertising — Google LLC (Google AdSense) may process cookies, device and usage data to deliver and measure ads when you consent to advertising/tracking cookies. Ad units do not load without consent; an ownership-verification account snippet may load separately. Data is kept only as needed for the service, security, contracts or law. You can avoid optional AI, verification, payment, YouTube, or social-share processing by not using that feature, but the feature will be unavailable. Keeping content private avoids extra exposure via community, public pages, or social share. Refusing Supabase or Vercel requires closing your account and discontinuing the service. Current provider terms are linked below.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies to provide features you request, such as keeping you signed in, security, and payments. Essential cookies cannot be turned off in cookie settings because they are required to run the Service.
Optional cookies used by us for analytics or advertising run only after you consent. With analytics consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to measure aggregated page views and usage, and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) for session recordings and heatmaps to improve usability (sensitive inputs are masked by default). Advertising/tracking tools stay disconnected until you opt in. With advertising/tracking consent, we may use Google AdSense (Google LLC) to show interest- or context-based ads and measure ad performance. AdSense may use cookies or similar identifiers for delivery, invalid-click protection, and frequency control; see Google’s privacy policy and ad settings. Ad units (and Auto ads) do not load until you consent. An AdSense account snippet for site ownership verification may load separately from personalized ads. When you load YouTube content in Watch, Google may process cookies and device data needed to provide that external content; see section 6 and Google’s privacy policy. We will update this policy and ask again when required if an optional-cookie provider or purpose changes materially.
Your choices and the time of consent are stored in browser local storage. You can change or withdraw consent anytime from Cookie settings in the site footer.

- In Settings → Profile you can review your information and edit nickname and profile image.
- In Settings → Subscription & emails you can withdraw marketing email consent anytime.
- In Settings → Delete account you can request full deletion of your account and personal information; we process it without delay.
